- PhD Title: Remote Sensing of Water Pan Hydrodynamics and Land Degradation in the Agropastoral Environment
- Year of Completion: 2027

PhD Overview
My research focuses on water pans, which are small reservoirs and critical sources of water for livestock and wildlife, particularly in the dry lowland regions of Taita Taveta County, Kenya. They are also vital for small-scale irrigation. The key objectives of my research are mapping the water pans, assessing their physico-chemical parameters, estimating water volumes in relation to livestock numbers, and examining land degradation driven by human activities and climate change.
Sustainability Goals
- Clean Water and Sanitation
- Life on Land
