PhD Overview

My PhD research investigates the impact of the gut microbiome, environmental enteric dysfunction (EED), and both clinical and subclinical Shigella infections on childhood stunting in Zambian infants. By integrating metagenomic and metabolomic profiling of stool samples with clinical assessments of gut barrier function and growth metrics, I aim to identify microbial biomarkers and mechanistic pathways linked to impaired growth that can be targeted for interventions to reduce childhood stunting in resource-limited settings.

Sustainability Goals

  • Clean Water and Sanitation
  • Good Health and Well-being
  • Reduced Inequalities
