- PhD Title: Scour Protection Effect on the Behaviour of Group Pile - Supported Bridge
- Year of Completion: 2027

PhD Overview
Erosion caused by flowing water is a significant threat to structures like abutments and piers, which are especially vulnerable. This process undermines foundation support, leading to excessive deformation, tilting, and ultimately jeopardizing the stability and safety of the entire bridge. Severe erosion increases the risk of collapse, endangering human lives. Studying scour and mitigating its effects on structural stability remains a major challenge. As part of my PhD research, I am exploring the role of structural health monitoring in assessing the influence of scour and scour protection measures on bridge performance.

About Me
It is a Lecturer and Civil Engineer with over a decade of experience since 2010. A high-achieving graduate, I ranked 3rd out of 43 students in civil engineering department. A researcher, I have published 12 papers and presented at international conferences worldwide. I hold prestigious memberships in ICE, BGA, CIHT, and SECED and was selected as an Inspirational Woman in STEM at the University of Nottingham. Passionate about advancing the field, I am now leading efforts to establish new CIHT branches in Iraq and Jordan, promoting knowledge-sharing and professional development in transportation and infrastructure engineering.
